Fan meets are a precious moment, as it allows them the opportunity to chat with their idol when they are celebrating a special occasion, such as the release of a new album or their birthday. It is then possible for a fan to get their hands on a coveted video call opportunity, through which they can talk face to face with their favorite artist. The idol in all their liveliness is as clear as the internet connection allows. As idols and fans don't necessarily speak the same language, most fans take this time to just enjoy the feeling of togetherness it creates, as it is the closest thing to a “normal” online interaction they can have with an idol, but also with any other loved one at a distance. Thus, the idol, though long considered a kin, is consecrated as such by the closeness that the fan meet allows and will retain that status for as long as their spirit can be recognized by the fan through other forms of representations.
